Take My Hand

I sang this tonight.
I love this song.
If only I could do it justice.
Like this man does.
The song just flows from him.
I dedicate this to all my friends.
(That means YOU!)

I, who have nothing.

I have a wonderful, beautiful wife.
I have three beautiful, talented, healthy daughters.
I have so much love for, and from them all.
I have a mother, and sisters and brothers.
I have aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
I have great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
I have big feet. And big thumbs.
I have many friends.
I have a band. I have another one in the making.
I have fans.
I have a barbeque.
I have yet to use it. Let there be sunshine!
I have patience.
I have clothes.
I have respect for, and from other people.
I have a love for music and art.
I have my paintings hanging in my house.
I have a house.
I have heat when it's cold.
I have ice for my lemonade.
I have lemonade.
I have an old car. It does what it's supposed to do.
I have toast and peanut butter for breakfast. And three eggs.
I have food in the fridge.
I have beer in the fridge.
I have beer?
I have flowers in the garden. And weeds.
I have many lovely neighbours. And a couple of bollix-heads. Fuck 'em!
I have tomorrow's lunch prepared.
I have many years behind me.
I have many years ahead.
I have a life.
I have life.
I have everything I need.
I have to get some sleep soon.

For Map

Who 'boo'd her?

Catholics? Christians?

She told the truth.

She tore up a picture of the pope.

She stood up.

How brave. Fuck 'em Sinead!

They took a piece of me.

They TOOK me.

I'm crying.

I'm getting more brave.

I Have Issues!!!

For J.

Please answer A or B.

A: I think I drink too much.

B: I drink, I think too much.

I was browsing in a shop at the weekend and this came on the sound system.
I used to sing it many moons ago.
I was a different person then.
It brought back many memories.
Some of which were buried and forgotten.
But I am a stronger person today and those memories are just that.
The song is beautiful, as are the artists. Enjoy.

Von Maps

Everybody in the house is gigging this weekend.
Except Herself!
She has to make do with being Mammy-Cab.
Map has a couple of wedding parties to entertain.
Eldest teenager is performing with her choir and a brass band for a local concert.
Middle child and Youngest are both performing in their stage-school's annual show.
Middle child has her first big solo singing part and the nerves are starting to show.
The Youngest just takes it all in her stride.
As does Mammy!
Most of the shows are in the concert hall, which is about 10km from home.
And what with the actual shows AND rehearsals poor ol' Mammy-Cab is clockin' up the kilometers!
But she wouldn't have it any other way.
In a world full of shit, we are very lucky to have such good, happy kids.

Now, everybody, after me,

I like doin' it but it DOES smell fishy!

I've been mulling it over for a while now.
It's been rattlin' 'round in my noggin.
Will I? Won't I?
I've done it before.
Quite a few times actually.
But still no more than maybe a dozen times in the year.
The first time was strange. But exciting too.
It got better with each attempt.
I can't do it if anybody else is about tho'.
I get a bit self-concious if any body is watching.
Have to have complete concentration.
I spoke to Herself about it tonight.
(She was a bit wary the first time, but she came around.)
And as for the kids.
The youngest is fine with it.
But the teenagers! They can be difficult at that age.
But I've made up my mind.
It's time again.

It's CHOWDER for dinner!

NO leftovers! My girls know what's good fer 'em.

Everybody dance. NOW!

Nice crowd tonight.
Floor full for most of the evening.
I like a dancey crowd.
Then, the bar closed, at 12:30!
12:30? At a wedding? In fuckin' Ireland?
Tres Bizzare indeed.
Still, got home early and made aquaintance with a certain Mr. Jack D.
(The liquor, not the stand-up).

A lovely evening is expected tomorrow.
The christening of baby Aine, daughter to Paul & Francis,
and sister to the darling Aishling.
I don't go for all that church thing, everyone to their own,
but the party is on at my local, at 6:30.
Fun will be had by all.
I've been a bit down, but tomorrow is an uppy for definite!
Now where did I put that Jacky D?

There is a cloud o'er me.
I would forever in it's shadow stay,
Be in shade,
If it were to save my love,
The one, who were my other mother
But the cloud be dark,
And must rain upon me
And my like.

(I'm) Spinnin' . A round?

My head is addled, befuddled, bewildered.
Not to mention shaken, thrown and woozy!
Punchy, rattled and shook.

Could be sunny tomorrow.

It IS tomorrow.
