Spamming Bollix At It Again!!!!!!!

Update: I found the offending spam and have removed it (It was set to send for the next TWO YEARS!!) Hope that's the end of it! :¬(

My stupid Yahoo email account has been sending out spam again, apologies to all. For the moment I'll be using my gmail (Addy in side bar) so ignore ALL emails from mapstew@yahoo.ie for now!

Does anybody know how I can suspend my offending account while saving the many emails I wish to keep? (Like all the nice emails from ya all!) All help greatly appreciated.

Map.

  1. I am of no help, technically speaking, my friend.

I'd be happy to have a beer and sing with you, though. :-)

  3. Must be spam day...I had some idiot trying to sell me polo shirts. Fortunately, I have my blog tuned to keep possible spam and let me look before it posts. Which is how I keep that I-Hate-American-Women nut at bay. :)

I'm not the most tech savvy...can you just copy/paste the messages to a page in your computer?

  4. hope; This guy hi-jacked my email and was sending spam to all my contacts, I thought I had gotten rid of it but some friends were still getting hit! Think it's sorted now.

And I think I may be able to transfer all my saved email (many hundreds of personal emails I don't want to lose) & contacts to the new email addy! :¬)

  5. Hope you've got it all sorted, Map. Including the saving of emails.

I've been hit by spambots too, but use Super Antispyware regularly now to keep those things cleaned out. It's not so much that someone hijacks your email, they just quietly insert a tiny bit of programming in the background on your computer that runs through your address book and sends spam to everyone you know.

It's a pain in the ass, is what it is. Or arse, if you're Irish. ;-)

And if you and Pearl are gonna be singin', I'll join in but pass on the beer. That's just not my cuppa tea.

  6. My wife had to bail out on her Yahoo email account because of all the attacks. It killed her because she's had it for so long and hates Gmail, but she couldn't stand the spam anymore.

  7. That is a problem I have yet to experience - Heaven forbid. I do expect Norton to do its job and protect me from that sort of caper.
There are plenty of other problems to cope with on a daily basis.
