Hello?

Just home from the third of four gigs this weekend. (I could really do with most weeks being like this!)

All very different. But one was to an audience of deaf people, well at least 95% of the audience was deaf.

We had signers on stage with us, for some of the gig.
But for most of the night, the majority of the audience had their back to us.
I might be going out on a limb here, but I thought that was quite ignorant.

  2. I know you meant singers - I'm clever like that.
What a bummer. Difficult to know how to react and stay professional.
If you kept your cool that was admirable.

Pat; No, I meant signers, we had people signing the lyrics as I sang! :¬)

  4. O--kay.

I understand that the deaf can feel vibrations from music but...maybe it was a treat for those who had to sign?

The only thing sillier than this? Jeff Dunham is a ventriloquist and had the same kind of audience!

  5. So, all these years the poor wee sowls who have had to endure you on stage have been signing at you? I thought they were just big fans of Maxwell Hoose...

I'm signing at you right now as we speak.

  6. I used to be an entertainer a couple of lifetimes ago and the audience can be very rude and ignorant sometimes. They seem to think because theyre paying you they can do whatever they like. Ive had people talk and even yell while I was performing but never turn their backs like that...very rude indeed

  8. hope; Some of the audience would gather next to our speakers and put their hands on them to feel the vibrations. :¬)

Seamus; You can be so hurtful! :¬(

Tempo; You know, I shouldn't complain. I get to sing in front of people and get paid quite well for it. Most of the time the audiences are most appreciative. :¬)

Pat; You an ass? Never dear! :¬)
