It Was Twenty Years Ago Tomorrow

The Parents in this family are out of here for a few days r'n'r.
We're off to Galway, where there just happens to be an Arts Festival in full swing!. (It's quite a major event actually.)

The Map offspring will be looking out for themselves.
The laundry is done,
The fridge & freezer are packed to bursting,
And I've stayed up all night drinking any and all booze that was in the house.
(Just to keep temptation out of the way don't ya know!)

Happy Anniversary Mrs. Map!

See you all in a few days.
Mind the shop, and keep an eye on the girls.

  6. Wow! 20 years! Nice work. A lot of people don't make it that far. Hell, a lot of people don't make it to five years! What's the secret? People are getting married later and later in life. As a result, you'll see fewer and fewer 40 and 50 year anniversaries.

  12. As someone looking at an anniversary next month, I appreciate how wonderful it is when your mate not only remembers the date, but does so without prodding. :)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you both! Don't worry about the girls, we'll peek in on them. Go have fun!

  14. A man walks the limited space between the close guarding of a soulless glass eye high upon a wall, his steps are limited only by the mere constrains of crumbling grey bricks of which he is yet to concur the count.

    His mind remains unshackled.

He smiles inwardly as he gazes upon the pale flesh of which a Breitling once sat in mock finery as auld faither time himself. Time is defined by the emotions for only those he left behind.

Tick follows tock in a melody fae a far gentler rhythm than once was. His own clock face chimes a silent warning to others who wish to blind his minds eye with anything other than the golden memories of better times.

    "Walking all the day"
"Near tall towers where falcons build their nests"
    "Silver wings they fly"

    - he said you'll know and understand the next line.

  22. the watercats; Galway is great, the streets were FULL of buskers and street performers, and all seemed to be 'making a few bob'! So maybe the trip might pay for itself? You would have a grand time there. :¬)

  25. I'm curious about the next line, too, although it doesn't really matter. Just recognizing who authored the others, and knowing that he still has his voice is enough. :)

  26. to no regrets - there is no doubt whose magnificent spirit authored those beautiful words we all have so longed to hear - just a single word would do - but you send us all a bouquet for which i personally am moved to tears - the gypsy has left a few tidbits here and there round her campfires for you from time to time - and hopes you know the fire burns for your return to the caravan - until then, mighty phoenix, until then -
