Stuff.

Stuff happens.
And there ain't fuck all we can do about it sometimes.
And , old as I am, I am still learning that.
There ain't fuck all we can do about it MOST of the time.
There ain't fuck all we can do about it ALL of the time!
But it's good to know you are there.
And I'm here, should you want to tell me about 'stuff'! :¬)

  1. Did you know that stuff spelled backwards is ffuts? That doesn't mean a damn thing but that's the thought that occurred to me tonight. And you're not old. You're not even 50 yet, for crissakes. You're still learning valuable lessons life. See? Still young. Just like I said.

  4. Yup, there's always 'stuff'... and ffuts too... and you're still a young pup yet, Map. UB's a wise man. Although he does make up words...

Always nice to know there's someone to listen when stuff happens... and the reverse is true too. xoxoxo

  5. I'm beginning to think that we've evolved to forget stuff once we've dealt with it, or it's receded, so we don't descend into nihilism, perhaps.

There does seem to be a period (mid-forties onwards?) where stuff hits like bullets from a misfiring Tommy gun and we don't have time to deal with each individual one.

Did you say big party next year, I'll start saving for a virtual frock?

  6. One advantage of getting old - being able to forget 'stuff'. Are ffuts good? - I hope so xxx

  8. Stuff is the reason our people invented single malt, hae a wee dram and the stuff will melt away.

  9. oh, sweetness, listen, yes, stuff happens - but take it from the me - while maybe we can't do "about" it, it's what we do "with" it that matters! and you're a prime example, bringing your stuff here to be shared with those who care each for the other, lessening perhaps the degree of separation and alienation we all feel in times of stuff happening - and while i realize these little silly platitudes may do nothing at all to lessen your load of stuff at the moment, perhaps knowing that someone else who also carries, as do we all, a load of stuff understands and cares -

so whenever your stuff gets a little too stuffy, come on over to gypsywoman's camp - have some wine - dance round the fire to the jingle of the tamborines!

  10. You really don't have to know stuff, you just have to let people think that you do.
Of course, when your children query you on stuff, that's when you say "There are some things you just have to learn for yourself"
And we know that you know stuff

  12. Hmmm, Kim described my day today in perfect English. :) I know, "shite happens". Which means I knew before I opened my paycheck that for the second year, there would be no pay raise after giving them 23 years of my life.

But I also know it will one day be better. Besides, visiting with you and your jolly self ALWAYS makes the day better. As we've all said, that lean on me mentality goes both ways. :)

  18. I agree with Gypsywoman: "while maybe we can't do "about" it, it's what we do "with" it that matters!"

And that's a BIG advantage of the blogging community: you're here to help (and ask for it), I'm here to help (and ask for it), we're all here to help and ask for it when we need it.

Thanks for being you, Map—you make a big difference in my world.

  19. Charlie; You are such a kind man Charles! I truly don't know how a pleb (look it up!) like me could make a blind bit of difference in the life of one so good as yourself! But thank you so much for the compliment. You are indeed one of the nicest and most sincere people I have yet to meet! All my love to you & the lovely Martha. :¬)
