Art On My Sleeve

26 comments:

  1. OUCH! About 15 years ago I got a tat on my shoulder about the size of a U.S. silver dollar and I almost passed out from the pain. Unfortunately, I'm not kidding.

I want to get The Daughter's initials on my ankles. Mrs. Wife might eventually throw me out of the house, but they'll always be my daughters.

  2. Hubby and I have seen some fantastic artwork over the years on friends' bodies, and yours is clean and like a sleeve. Nice. How long did it take and how many sessions?

  3. UB; Ouch indeed!
As long as you don't get the tattoo on your forehead Mrs. Wife is sure to keep the door open! :¬)

    TechnoBabe; Welcome, and thanks.

It took six hours, all done in one session!
(The artist is my nephew Robert.) :¬)

  4. I can't pretend I like tattoos but that has an artistic quality and reminds me of a Greek urn.
    Your nephew is very clever.

  6. You are a braver man than me. Then again, I'm not a man, so maybe that's the difference. ;)

    Looks good on you!

  7. Just as long as it does no stop you reaching your short arms into your very deep pockets when it comes to your round.

A pint it is then, I'll see you at 9.

  9. Yes, the Greek Urn. Is all of that actually carved in your skin? Must be painful...

  10. RO; Ah the Greeks and their urns!

And yes, it's there forever, and it WAS painful, but not now, :¬)

  11. What did Mrs. Map have to say about it? And isn't that arm heavier than the other one now?

  12. Six hours! Hopefully you got to take a bathroom break! lol Some day when I can afford it, I'd like to get a few more tats.

  13. Charlie; Mrs. Map says "It's your body!"

    Heavier AND longer! :¬)

AJ; Actually we took a coffee break bot NO bathroom break!

(I get my tats for free!) :¬)

  14. It is a lovely design...
Do you have any idea how much baby lotion your mom put on that arm so your skin would be lovely?

  15. @eloh; I can guarantee you it was far from baby lotion I was reared!

As for lovely skin, I was affectionately known as 'pizza face' and 'the man with a face like a bowl of Rice krispies'!

But it is a lovely design! :¬)

  16. Map, you must have a huge bladder if you sat through that, drank coffee and didn't have a bathroom break! I'd have wet myself!!!

But it looks great. I'm not a big fan of tats myself, but I do like those Maori inspired designs. It's just on the inside of your forearm, then? Are you going to get it all the way around?

  17. Pon; I must a big bladder! It's all the practice I get in the pub! :¬)

Just on the inside of the forearm. For now. :¬)
