Day two of jury service and they haven't even picked a jury yet. We're all just sitting here watching TV. I have seen a few "characters" about the place though and know most of them to see. I doubt I'll get to serve on a jury!

UPDATE : I wasn't picked, thank fuck!

  1. I've had a similar experience.... weird being up the pub with the defence in the evening when you've spent the day with the prosecution. Sshhh. Careless talk, etc.

  3. You're back!! Yay! And glad you didn't get selected. I have only once received notice of jury duty but I was in the middle of my nursing exams and so declined. Here in Canada, you can only do that once.

    1. There was a technical problem with the link from the court to the jury assembly room so the judge asked all of us, 120, up to the courtroom to select the jury! I was convinced I would be the last one selected! 😅

  4. I've been called for Jury Duty 3 times. The first time I was a Dispatcher for the State Police: the Magistrate laughed and said, "Don't even show up! Soon as they find out where you work they'll all start yelling." 2nd time: a week after we moved I got a summons but I lived in a different county, so they excused me. Last year I got called, we sat around an hour waiting on the Judge, who announced, "Well, the first case just pled guilty prior to court, the next case isn't ready and it'll take over a week. Go home. Thanks for showing up." I'm glad you got out of the house but without having to make any awful decisions. :)
