The Boy, The Bhoys.

Why is it that I, a 52yr old man, married with three daughters and a small garden, am still the boy while in the company of Ma? Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.

Tonight she shall sit in her own chair, by her own fire, a glass of something golden in her hand and no doubt the odd puff of a John Player Blue. It's been a long 53 days for everybody, not least the Ma.

Tonight I shall be on a high stool by another fire, something golden in my hand (Easy Chef!) and a pal by my side. Let's hope it's a good day all round.

COYBIG!  :¬)

  2. Yea, Ma is home where she belongs! And as one who works with that age group, I too am still often referred to as "the Girl Director or you're just a young chick". :) Enjoy it.

Your tale brought back the memory of when my Dad was sick. Long story short, he was staying with his Mother at the time. His treatment had killed his appetite and she was admonishing him to eat something. But her tone of voice said she was in charge and he was age 5 in her mind. I burst out laughing and told Dad, "Hey, you're never an adult when it comes to your parents."

Have a great weekend...we're all filling up with turkey tomorrow for Thanksgiving, but I refuse to join that Black Friday shopping mob!

  3. Welcome home, Ma! Just in time for the holiday season.

Your daughters will always be 'the girls' when in your presence, no matter how old they get. The carousel turns round and round.

  4. Indeed, maybe now the powers that be will spend some money and buy a couple of decent strikers instead of the current donkeys we trotted out last night.

Tell your Ma I was asking for her, okay?

  5. So happy to hear your Ma is back home and doing well! Enjoy your evening with your pal and your drink. As my mum once said to me, "No matter how old you get, you will always be my little girl."

  7. That's excellent news!

I presume that you have a "Welcome-Home-Dear-Ma" playlist, haven't you? With the golden thing and John Player blue, it would be the perfect combination!
