Custom Kitchen Deliverieeeeeeees!

Little Brother is off to Disneyland Paris with his family for a wee break. So I'm looking after business while he's away, my annual little bit of real work, as it were. And yes, as the title states, I will be delivering custom kitchens up and down this fair land. And garden furniture. The odd fridge. I ain't gotta install no microwave ovens though!

And, like every other year, by the time he returns I will be sore, tired and bruised! (This body was meant for entertaining, not straining!) But I will enjoy being back on the road again, for a little while. And I get to spend the week with a very entertaining nephew!

  4. I'll try again...

Not afraid of a little hard work surely pal? Have you forgotten the taste of that first Friday pint after a week of skinned knuckles and muck on your boots? Do you not recall the craic you have with those about you when the day is done and the swally is being poured?

For one awfie moment I thought you was turning into an Englishman, you know, the wans that cannae lay a brick or change a flat tyre. The wans who give it the biggie doon the phone when they know you're a good distance away. The wans who are happy to pay Celtic tradesmen to build their roads and extend their houses, fit their kitchens and sleep with their women. Ahh c'mon, surely you've seen them shopping in Staples of a weekend because they have no loyal pals to drink with or to enjoy working hard along side them during the week, taking the pish, but willing to give you the shirt off their back.

Haul them kitchens my friend, and be proud that you're a working man. I'll be saving a stool at the bar in O'Riordans for yis on Friday, you can tell me all about your week over a pint. It's your round by the way.

Of course... if you're no there, can you pick me up a new pencil in Staples at the weekend?

  6. GYPSYWOMAN; It's not ALL bad, what with the nice tips I do be gettin' from the lovely ladies (for my charming ways while making a delivery!) And all that heavy liftin' is only making me even more buff!

Pon; It's great, really enjoying it. The nephew is a great lad, but has a habit of dozing off in between deliveries. I get a great craic out of stopping suddenly, frightens the Bejasus outa him! Poor lad. (We also do house moves, good rates for friends!) :¬)

  8. How can I top Jimmy's observation? ;)

Dad always claimed hard work built muscles and character....usually while trying to coax me into doing some sort of manual labor I didn't usually do. The one I remember best was going up on the roof with him to put up the t.v. antenna (ah yes, the dinosaur days of only 3 stations to chose from) because HE was afraid of heights.

  11. Nothing like a complete change for a few weeks--and of course Jimmy is right--the beer tastes so much better after a day of sweat.
Are you sure that you cant install a microwave--mine blew up tonight, half way through warming my dinner
