Mates

Heard this for the first time today.
Boyzone?
Great song, written by Mika.
I love my mates, and miss the ones who have passed.
I have tasted those salty tears.

Enjoy your friends.

  1. I'd never heard of them before this... but I like... it's rather poignant, isn't it?

  2. Ponita, you might know them from their one moderate hit over here, No Matter What, from the mid-90s, I think. I know that it's not cool to like Boyzone, but I always have. :)

Thanks for sharing this, Map - very touching.

  3. I'd rather have a bit of raunch and listen to that baldy fella across the water. The Map man... a truly grand night out in the company of drink. He's also a wee bit taller than your man Ronan.

  4. Ah, Ronan's a cutie, Jimmy, so mind your manners. Apparently even the blue rinse set think he's adorable, which doesn't say a lot for my tastes, I suppose. I also have a thing for James McAvoy, who's another shortie. But at least James is from Glasgow, so surely you'll agree that that makes up for his height deficit. But yes, another six or eight inches taller would make him absolutely perfect.

Oh hey, Map, how ya doin'? It would be rude to not acknowledge the blog owner, while hijacking his comments to talk about other men. ;)

  5. P.S. Map, it goes without saying that I'd rather listen to you than Boyzone any day. But since you haven't yet put up a sample of your artistry on YouTube and Boyzone have, what's a girl to do?

  6. Tis sad to remember friends gone too far before their time.
You never know how important to your life they are til they are not there

  7. We never ever know when we're going to lose a friend, do we? Sage advice, Map, and I liked the song and video.

Going to try it in your rep?

  8. Pon; They were a boyband from the 90's who had recently reformed. They had recorded this song before Steven Gately (the first voice on the track) died last year. Poignant it is.

  9. What a touching song!

And yes, we do tend to take our friends for granted...not so much THEM, as the fact we'll have them around forever.

Which is why I'm going to forward to my best friend Claudie, your "mime" link...we have the same sense of humor. She says laughing is what keeps us tied together no matter how far apart the miles keep us.

Guess that kinda applies to friends like you as well. ;)

  11. I've long since given up taking anyone for granted. Too many has left before their time and the voids remain. Those who matter, know they matter.

And that includes the likes of you, Map, and Jimmy and Eleanor Hope and Savannah and now Charlie and Clyde and so many others. You've all wormed your ways into my heart and for that I am eternally grateful!

  12. Pon; Now there's a gang a lad is proud to be part of!

    Thanks hon.

(I had to WORM my way? Most people love me INSTANTLY!) :¬)
