YAY! A gold medal for the Mad Hatters and The Map!!!
Stupendous, hon! Loved it!!! Wish I could have been there on the dance floor, boogeying along with your band. That was awesome! I am grinning ear to ear... can you tell!?!?!
What great fun! Well done, sir. If I posted a video of me working you would see a man sitting at a desk under a florescent light trying to fight off sleep and apathy.
Pon; I just hate looking at recordings of myself! I Love being in the moment and having fun at the time, but reliving it is something I still have to come to terms with! I am glad you enjoyed it, and I will post something from my music room, something more 'just me', soon! :¬)
xxx
UB; I do have fun working! I know, one of the lucky guys! The downside though is never having a steady income! :¬)
Being an absolutely huge, ginormous, utterly devoted Queen fan, I'm very, very, very picky about covers of any of their songs. Most do not pass my rigid standards at all, but you, Sir, are tremendous! :D I mean that sincerely, not just as flattery. The rest of the band are great, too, and I'd love to dance my feet off at one of your gigs! Thank you sooo much for sharing this and please, let's have lots more. And soon! :) xxoo
Map, that must rank as the best cover of a Queen song that I've ever heard! You & the band are bloody good :-) Dunno if it's any help or not, but alot of the HOG chapters organise bands when there's a big rally. There was one in Muscat (Oman) a coupla years ago, that were paid a fat sum (think it was 10 grand) for one evenings 'work'. I can't remember the band name (they're from the UK), but they only do Rolling Stones songs & I'm telling you hon, you guys would've put them to shame! Maybe it's worth asking around the HOG chapters? Just an idea :-)
Ok, ok, I'm not gonna be a groupie---and you have a bit to do to be a dancer like Freddy, but well done mate----very professional--- I guess I have to turn up one night and brag that I know the singer---geez, maybe I'll get layed
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! I'll be out on the dance floor just as soon as I can find the bartender! Who do you gotta know to get a drink around here?! Woooooooooooooooooo!!!
I'm right up there to be a groupie, Map!!! I think that has been clear from the get go. :-)
Loved the 'Elvis' twist you threw in there. I'd spend the night on the dance floor too, and I wouldn't care if I was dancing with anyone other than myself! ;-)
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! Impressed doesn't even cut it. Pon & I might give you 24 hours before we start in again on you.
Psst, Pon. Over here... in the corner for a conference. We need a better camera angle. Although the hip swiveling was a nice touch, I'm sure the man has a face. And the guy in the white shirt attempting to dance was distracting.
*whispers in corner with hope* Yeah, we definitely need to use the zoom feature. I'll bring my camera next time. I've had a bit of experience with that kind of stuff. *chuckles*
*ahem* Requests, Map? Something that shows us your croonin' style to a T! Up close and personal... You've got us all swoonin' from a far, hon... just think what it will do if the camera zooms in! ;-)
See Pon, that's why you and are such good about-to-be P.R. people [now that we have something to work with]...we're on the same wave length!
I too was thinking a little Michael Buble would be nice.
So Sir Map....off you go. But if you're gonna croon, a shot of your face would be nice. No since in wasting all that talent if you're crooning a tune and we can't see ya. ;)
hope; So 'tis a bit of crooning ye seek is it? I'll work on something, voice still not back to normal and there's some green stuff comin' up from the lungs! (I hope you're not eating as you read this!) :¬)
xxx
Charlie; Thank y'all, 's bin a long time' thank ya very much! :¬)
Map, I'm a lurker from Australia. Once upon a time in an earlier part of my life (1976) I was at Dromoland Castle, and to see you and the Mad Hatters there was wonderful. You fellas are not too bad at all! I really enjoy your blog and take on things, and I will probably continue to lurk! As an Aussie with a Mum from Cork and a Dad from Galway, I have green blood in a sunburnt country. Look forward to more of you lads on youtube. Keep up the good work and let a few of us have the odd swoon! Angela
Angela; Welcome to my scribblings, and thank you for your kind comments. Dromoland is a beautiful castle, and only about 20 mins drive from me. Though I do envy your sunny climate! My eldest daughter hopes to study medicine and to one day move to your part of the world to work for a while, so maybe I might get to see that 'down under' sunshine yet!
Oh the irony! No, I just got back from the hospital having a chest x-ray taken so my new doctor will have "something to compare to" in the future. [When you have a LONG time to sit and read, you can read all about what a wimp I am].
Um green isn't good, sweetie. Pon can back me up. At least that's what I've always been told was a sign of pneumonia in the making. Take care of yourself!
hope; it's getting less green the closer we get to St. Patrick's Day! I'm trying to cure myself with natural antibiotics, garlic & honey (not together!), and lots of steam. And beer. If i'm not better by Friday I'll think about a doctor visit!

P.P.S. The mister had a look at this, too, and was very impressed. He doesn't want to be a groupie, though. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice hip action! Ladies are never satisfied - now I'd like a close up. Great stuff!

ReplyDeleteBro Map,
ReplyDeleteI finally got to the party and for a moment I wished I was there dancing and singing along. That song is great to hear anytime!
U
U; Thanks brother. It's good to hear from you again! :¬)
ReplyDeleteI'm better and you better be! :)
ReplyDeleteI actually bought one of those small, face size steamers [for the sinus challenged] and it's helped more than anything else so far!
Of course, feel free to drink a beer in my honor. ;)
hope; I'm still at that 'Sexy/Barry White' stage, voice wise, but without the great mans range! Keeping the fingers crossed for Sat!!
