It Must be love.

The thing about love.
You can't decide who you are going to love.
You don't have a choice.
One of the biggest decisions in your life.
And you have no power over it.

'I love this person.
I just do.
And I hope She/He loves me too.'

And you have no power over that either.
Wow!

  1. Brother Map,

We sing about it, talk about it, worry about it, want it, need it, lose it, miss it and have it. It's the one thing in life that defies a logical explanation.

All it takes is a really great song to remind me how great it is to love a good woman.

Thanks for two great songs Brother Map.

  2. No, you don't have any power over it. When your heart chooses someone, even if they don't choose you, it doesn't lessen the feelings you have.

That person will forever have a place in your heart. Seeing their face, hearing their voice, will cause your breath to catch and your heart to stop.

I truly hope, Map, that this person knows you love her/him and that it is reciprocal. xoxo

I'm going to listen to the music now...

  4. U; I thought you might like 'em.
A good week to you Brother.

Pon; I wasn't writing about mysell specifically, just love in general, but yes She does and yes it is reciprocal. I am a very lucky man.

This was inspired by a couple I met at one of my weddings at the weekend. He is a very slight man and she is a very large woman. I sang at their wedding 14 years ago (as a very young teenager!) and I remember thinking then 'love is blind'!
They were still obviously in love when I saw them dancing together this weekend.

    Jimmy; GET OFF!!

(Now that did make me laugh out loud!)

  5. Amazing how he managed to copy a song by Madness nearly a decade before they wrote it!

  6. Yes, you are a lucky man, Map... you and Jimmy both. (No, not like that!)

It's wonderful to see a couple who were meant for each other... despite what could be seen as differences that would make it unthinkable for some.

    Jimmy, you're a hoot!

    xoxo to you both!

  7. Jimmy and Map, my new Severus and Lupin. Give 'em both a run for their money, you will, you handsome devils.

Okay, don't go researching that one, dear man, or you're going to absolutely kill me.

All kidding aside, we've had a sort of mind meld, on the subject of love...

  8. Oh good lord, Leah... I googled that! And found this:

    Severus and Lupin!! hahaha!!!

  9. I think you find love when you stop looking and let it embrace you. [And you discard that judging a book by it's cover stuff].

Because if I'd stuck to the book cover, I'd have missed out being married to the wonderful guy I have. I mean really, we looked ridiculous together: me 5 foot one, him 6 feet tall and built like a grizzly bear. And yet we clicked from the second time we met...the first time was suppose to be um...blackmail. Long story. Let's just say I got the last laugh....and the man.

Now, if I can just stop laughing at Jimmy, maybe I can get to work myself. Have a lovely day, my friend!

  10. Oh shit, Miss P. Now you've gone and done it. They'll never speak to me again. I just can't help that I'm a degenerate, though. Just think of it as a disease--and hope I get cured.

    xo and a blush.

Sorry, Map... I don't do confession... or church... or religion for that matter. But I'll buy you a pint in the pub and we can sit and talk about it! xoxo

  22. I love and I lust, are the two linked or do you think they can be separate??

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jules, they can be both separate or occur together... I've experienced both ways.

Map, brazen? Moi? ~grins wickedly~ Why, of course! What other way is there to be?? xoxo

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jules; exactly what the 'brazen one' said! You con love someone without ever lusting after them, and one can lust after a complete stranger. And yes, the combination of love and lust for the same person can be magic!

Pon; what am I going to do with you?
