Baby

21 years ago today a lovely wee girl came into my life.
And it changed me as a person.
She turned my life upside down.
I took one look at her and instantly fell in love.

We called her Kate.

Happy birthday to my beautiful, talented baby.

I love you more than you will ever know.

I will always be here for you, as will your doting mother.

  1. A coincidence? Today my youngest son leaves his teenage years and hits his 20s. A grand day I wish for them both.

  3. Hmmm... when you say "my beautiful talented baby" I guess I should have told you sooner...

Remember that sunny afternoon in 1992 when I asked you to hop on your auld bicycle and fetch me some pipe tobaccy from the newsagents on the far side of town?

Did it never occur to you that I didn't smoke?

  12. I've had Stella in the snow, not bad at all, apart from her cheeks being a wee bit red.

  14. All good birthday wish your young one and and Mr. Chef's young sprog, as well. If either of you have any parenting tips, please pass them along. Quickly! I'm flying through the fog blind.

  15. UB, just one tip, no matter how many times they fall over be there to pick them up. Regardless of their age, a father's job foremost is to be their safety net in life, all be it discreetly.

  16. UB; I agree with my culinary friend, and will add only this; every child is completely different to their siblings. Enjoy the growing up, every moment. :¬)

  19. I was merely highly spirited. Everything else printed in newspapers was out of proportion and exaggerated. Apart from that one time in Riddrie, and the several other occasions in Uddingston, Greenock, Paisley and Pollock. Maybe once or twice in Belfast, Dublin, Mayo and of course Roscommon.

But then you already know this as you were then as you are now, my right hand man.

  20. Chef; Shoulder to shoulder! :¬)

  21. Erm, no. More like shoulder to waist is closer the truth.

  22. Chef; Erm, yes, I could have predicted this very reply!

    Pint anyway? :¬)
