'Being yourself', and not allowing oneself to be changed into someone else, by someone else, specifically your significant other, is, according to my significant other, the recipe for a true, happy and long relationship.
Thank you Mrs. Map for not only allowing me to be myself, but for actively encouraging it and downright insisting on it!
Where (who) would I be without you? :¬)

She's a wonderfully smart woman, that Mrs. Map. Give her a big hug and say thanks to her for allowing you to be the you who has become my friend!!! xoxoxoxo to you both. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh... how beautiful your love is =) I hope I find someone as wonderful as your wife.

The single biggest mistake women make is to marry someone and then set about trying to shape them into something other than what they fell in love with in the first place. Accept our flaws, ladies. You can't change us. Take a page from Mrs. Map's playbook and live a long, happy life.
ReplyDelete@UB: Men do that too. I've been on the receiving end. He was not successful. I am not with him. ;-)
ReplyDeleteLet's hear it for Mrs Map.
ReplyDeleteYou are very blessed Mr Map.
Beautiful. What a tribute.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Map is a smart woman for many reasons... the most obvious is that she liked what she saw and kept the man just like she found him. ;)
ReplyDeletePlease offer our gratitude for allowing us to take up some of your time.
this so reminds me of when my friend was in a very critical situation - every thing he had was at stake - and i asked what i could do to help - his response: just keep on being you, jenean - that remains one of the most beautiful things ever said to me and i'm sure mrs map feels the same with your words -
ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful tribute to an obviously very amazing woman - and from a man unafraid to say what is in his heart - both beautiful, and more so together - thanks for sharing with us!
I take it you haven't yet told her about the drunken tattoo you had done last week.
ReplyDeleteHaving your name inked onto your you-know-what was very brave. I thought the letters M.A.P would fit perfectly. I guess I was both drunk and wrong.
Pon; Hug given, she's a bit poorly too at the mo! :¬)

Kane; Ta! And I'm sure you will! :¬)
UB; Exactly! :¬)
ReplyDeletePon; Yes, men do that too, glad you didn't give in! :¬)

Pat; Blessed am I indeed! :¬)

hope; It was she who encouraged me to keep blogging when I was going to give it up last year. I'm glad she did! :¬)

GYPSYWOMAN; And thank you dear Gypsy! :¬)

Jimmy; Firstly, as you insisted on watching the whole tattoo process you know full well it was 'Martin Anthony Patrick'!
ReplyDelete(And thanks for offering to rub in the pain relieving gel, much appreciated pal!)
Pint? :¬)
and you guys! too funny!!! i sometimes feel as if i'm in a stand-up comedy club here! now, where's the waiter to refill my glass?
ReplyDeletexoxoxo
and thx for the fab entertainment! ;)
GYPSYWOMAN; Why thank you! We're here every night (two shows on Sunday). Six drink minimum, and that's before the show starts! :¬)
ReplyDeletexxx
That sounds very nice, Map. :-)
ReplyDeletePearl
Can I get a ringside (Oops. Sorry, that should be stage-side) seat for the next show??? Although you'd best arrange for my ride home. Six drink minimum is pretty much my maximum. ;-) xoxoxo
ReplyDeletePonita since I don't drink, (quick, someone help Jimmy off the floor and hand him a pint!), I'll be the designated driver. ;)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it about time we gave our client another stern talking to about a VISUAL to sell? I understand Jimmy's good with photography, but I'm thinking the new tattoo wouldn't be the right picture...not for the faint of heart. ;p
Lucky man, but of course you know that you have a wonderful lady
