An incredibly good song, Map, while I laze about the house and collect the dole once a month. Life is good when I have a caregiver like Martha and a friend like you ...
And you know, Pon, I didn't notice the dress until you mentioned it—outdated, is it?
I was just about to say it had to be the 80s. Or the turn of the millenium if it was in the part of Wales I used to live, which is always about 20 years behind the rest of the world. I was down there last year and they've just discovered the Mullet...
At first glance, I thought she was wearing a camouflage dress! Maura (love that name) has a fabulous voice, but 80s fashion sucked. I know... I was there... ;-)
Kim; Was it one of YOUR mullets? (I've seen the photies!!) :¬)
Pon; Maura (maw rah) O'Connell still has a fantastic voice. I never met her when she lived here, and she lives in Nashville now, but I was always a big fan. (She's on my FB friends if you want to check more of her stuff. And by stuff I mean music, not fashion!!) :¬)

Pearl; Ya, a fine set of pipes has our Maura! The dress not your style either I take it? :¬)
so glad i stopped by this evening - such a beautiful touch of "home" found here - and couldn't resist running over to check on charlie just now but he was dozing soundly so i didn't wake him - martha must have run out with friends for a bit so i just gave irish and molly a little treat as i left -
thanks for sharing charlie's little serenade with us!
oh, and in the event you've not already, feel free to check out one of my other blogs [words unspoken] when you drop by - perhaps you will enjoy it too -
GYPSYWOMAN; Thank you for the lovely compliment. And yes, I have checked out all your blogs, each one more beautiful and poetic than the last. You have a wonderful spirit! :¬)
I dropped over from Charlie's blog. Too bad you can't draw a pint through the web. But the Irish songs come through. I was fortunate enough to live outside of Limerick (near University) back in '89. County Clare is the best IMHO. slainte
Great song, but that dress! Yikes! What era is this video from, Map??? ;-) xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteAnd all the best to Charlie... it's so great to have him back again!

I liked the dress - it's so fitting with everything else.
ReplyDeletePon; You don't like the dress? It's the latest fashion here, all the rage as they say! Why I even have one in red myself! :¬)

Charlie; Don't be lazin' about too much now! (Do you have a little bell to ring when you need something fetching?) :¬)
Pat; I think that show was from the early 80's, though Maura (the lovely singer) was never one for convention! :¬)

As one who's never paid much heed to fashion, I must say at first I thought I was looking at the wallpaper and not a dress. :)
ReplyDeleteHowever the voice is so lovely that I forgot all about that 80s dress.
But hey, it's not about the dress, it's about CHARLIE back amongst us! You're a good man Map for swinging the spotlight in his direction.
hope; Fashion Smashion!! I have a feeling you set your own trends!
ReplyDeleteIt IS good to see Charlie 'about the place' again! :¬)
