A Song For Dev & Bock

Thank You.

And I stole this for myself from the Eldest.

  1. Despite the fact that Leonard Cohen is Canadian, and an amazing song writer, I can't stand listening to him sing.... his deep, droning monotone just doesn't do it for me.

That song, however, on Famous Blue Raincoat, by Jennifer Warnes alone, is fabulous. The whole album is fabulous!

Have never heard of Tim Minchin, but that's a hoot! He needs a new stylist, though... looks like he stuck his finger in an electrical socket for a day or two.

  2. Brother Map,

You have a treasure chest of artists I've never heard of berfore.

I enjoyed the lyrics of the first song. The second one reminded me of the musical humor of Randy Newman.

  3. Pon; Hey you, how you doin'?

I have to say Lenny's is a voice I do like listening to, but we all have our own tastes and thats' just fine.

I also like Jennifer, and have 'Famous Blue Raincoat' on vinyl, and it's treasured.

Tim Minchin is a fave of my Eldest, he is a fantastic musician who makes both of us laugh out loud!

  4. Oddly enough, I am watching a television special of Leonard Cohen's concert last year in London.

Leonard is an artist. What is better?

  8. You're always expanding my musical horizons.

There are elements of Cohen I like...and I wanted to take a breath for Minchin when he was singing. :)

  10. What can I tell you? Lenny is Lenny. You love him or you don't.

    Me?

I've never been in the middle of a crowd that wouldn't lay down their lives for him, right there on the spot, every man, woman and child, right there and then, without complaint, so I'm probably not qualified to comment.

  14. I thought that we had sworn a mickle oath never to mention the Foley's Incident.

    Or something. I was ossified.

True pleasure to meet you Map. You are a perfect, gentle knight and the ideal wingman.

Put me down on the Love Lenny page.It took some time and some work but now I'm a believer.

  15. Dev; the pleasure was all mine!

As for Foley's, all I remember is leaving!

Ma is the only other person I know who uses the word 'Ossified' in that context! And we ALL were!
