GYPSYWOMAN; And a wonderful weekend to you dear lady, hope the campfire is burning brightly, we need to keep a light on for those who may be trying to find their way home! :¬)
Rob will be fine. Our son left for OZ this am and I told him to look out for Rob. This is great but my absolute favourite version is the one played in the sixties film 'On the Beach' when the world was coming to an end. I must see if I can find it.
Use to be a couldn't listen to Waits without thinking of The Outsiders, now I can't listen to him without thinking of The Polar Express (though he wasn't in it). Either way, I always love Waits.
It's a tragedy what's happening down under at the moment, I shed a tear while watching one woman being interviewed on the news. A beautifully apt song well chosen.
this is one of my favorite versions, sugar! xoxox

A beautiful, poignant song.

If he's anything like you, young Rob is a swell guy! He's close to your heart as you are to his, Map, and I know you'll be in touch with him often.
ReplyDeleteAhh, Mr. Waits. When handing out talent God dropped a wee bit extra on this dude.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Tom Waits is THE MAN! Bukowski set to music. He was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
ReplyDeleteThere is no mistaking that voice! :)
